The certificate information is here https://www.databricks.com/learn/certification/apache-spark-developer-associate

Reading https://pages.databricks.com/rs/094-YMS-629/images/LearningSpark2.0.pdf should help a lot.

The certificate covers the Dataframe API and Spark Architecture. You'll have to know about clusters and how to manipulate dataframes using sql functions and dataframe methods.

@Joseph Kambourakis can I ask one more question, not sure if you can help and is out of context perhaps for you.

I attended a session on 20th Sep and supposed to receive

free certification voucher

but haven't received until now. I created multiple tickets in the last 15 days but no response from contact us team.

Do you have or guide to point of contact?

That's the 2nd edition of the book. The book is written with spark 3.0 in mind. Learning spark 1 was written for spark 1.4 over 6 years ago.
