Thank you very much for your quick response.

I am not clear one thing.I have googled but not getting the desired answer.

I am using Databricks Free Edition. While creating a new volume in catalog, there are two volume types 1.Managed Volume

2.External Volume

Lets assume if i created a new volume by selecting Managed Volume as my volume type and then i create a table by uploading a csv file to that managed volume. In this case will my account incur charges?

Note: My file size is few kbs to few Mbs

Hi @maruthigali143 ,

The Free Edition is completely free. You can freely use it for learning. However, it is subject to some limitations, which you can read about below.

Databricks Free Edition limitations - Azure Databricks | Microsoft Learn

Thanks for the details. Does databricks free edition has validity period?

Do we have access to labs using the free edition?

No problem. There's no validity period. Access does not expire, but inactive accounts may be deactivated after prolonged inactivity.

Regardign the second question - Free Edition has nothing do to with labs. The labs are part of Databricks Academy and you need to pay to access them (unless you have an access to partner academy)

No, you won't be charged at all. Don't worry about that. You can safely use Free Edition to learn Databricks 🙂
