Hi everyone,

I have switched the "New SQL Editor" on SQL Editor side. When opened this new feature, every new query saves automatically under my user. This is crazy, I cannot manage my folders like this.

But I didn't find any article or message about that. Please guide me how can I set the path for my SQL Query?

Hi @omeryasirkucuk

The "New SQL Editor" in Databricks does automatically save queries under your user profile by default, which can make folder organization challenging. Here's how you can manage the location of your SQL queries:

Managing Query Locations in Databricks New SQL Editor:

Save to a Specific Location:
 1. After creating your query, click the "Save As" option (usually available in the dropdown menu next to the query name)
 2. In the dialog that appears, you can navigate to your preferred folder location
 3. If needed, create a new folder using the "New Folder" option
 4. Select the destination and save your query there

Hi @lingareddy_Alva ,

Many thanks for your response. Currently I'm using the "Save As" method that you mentioned above. But I'm looking for the default path settings. Because, in my method, I'm using a lot of Editor querying tables. I know that's not best practice but I don't want to see all created queries in my User Folder.

I have return back to old version of SQL Editor. I want to use new version once I find a solution.

Many thanks,

Omer

This is NOT an acceptable solution, it discourages everyone to use the new query editor, nobody want to get slef-spam by random queries in workspace. Come on guys... you can do better.
