Lakebridge questions

We have a few questions before we propose Lakebridge as the migration tooling for one of our customers, where the requirement is to migrate from Redshift to Databricks. We need help with your quick response so we can proceed with the next steps:

Our understanding is that Lakebridge is free to use and available in Databricks labs and there are no assurance service charges or any other separate fees that we need to pay at any stage of implementation. Can you please confirm if that’s correct?

Additionally, we noticed that Redshift was not mentioned as a supported source in the Lakebridge documentation/article. Can you please confirm whether Lakebridge can be used for Redshift-to-Databricks migrations?

There is no cost associated to Lakebridge, it's free to use.

Currently for Redshift only the Analyzer is supported ; the converter should be available later this year (it's on the roadmap, no promise on date).

Hi, I am exploring Lakebridge to support data migration but I don't see any documentation for the Profiler. Is this feature available?

Hi community,

We’re currently planning a migration from an on-premise SQL Server data warehouse (with associated SSIS packages) to Databricks Unity Catalog. As part of this effort, we’re evaluating the use of Lakebridge for assessment, conversion, and validation.

I have a few questions regarding connectivity and integration:

JDBC Connectivity:

Does Lakebridge support connecting to on-prem SQL Server via JDBC for data and metadata extraction?

If so, are there any network requirements or best practices to enable this?

Unity Catalog Integration:

Can Lakebridge directly migrate or register extracted objects (e.g., tables, views) into Unity Catalog, or is this a post-migration step handled via UCX or manual registration?

Any guidance, examples, or documentation references would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
