Clarification on Updated Course Outline for Data Engineer Professional Certification

Hi Team,

I am currently preparing for the Data Engineer Professional Certification exam planned for May,2026, and I had a question regarding the recent updates to the course content.

Earlier, the course Data Engineer Learning Plan included detailed modules on streaming topics such as:

* Structured Streaming fundamentals
* Reading from streaming queries
* Streaming from Delta Lake
* Aggregations, time windows, and watermarks
* Event time processing
* Trigger types and output modes
* Stream joins
* Auto Loader ingestion patterns
* Data quality enforcement
* Streaming ETL labs

However, I am no longer able to find these topics explicitly listed in the current course outline.
It appears that content may have been reorganized.
Also, have observed a newer content in Advanced Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines.
I would like to confirm the following:

1. Are these streaming concepts still part of the exam syllabus, even if they are no longer presented as standalone modules?
2. Do I have to go through newer content for Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines, or should both concepts be prepared for the certification exam?
3. Could you please share the latest official list of topics/chapters that are in scope for the Data Engineer Professional Certification?
4. Are there any recommended learning paths or materials to ensure complete coverage given these recent changes?

Due to these updates, it has become a bit challenging to plan preparation effectively, and I want to ensure I am focusing on the right topics.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance so I can align my preparation accordingly.

@shilpimishra I checked the exam guide is not updated after Nov,25. Though the best resources one could follow would be the Databricks Academy Courses - https://community.databricks.com/t5/learning-events/databricks-learning-festival-self-paced-global/ev-p/150223

Thank you for your response, and apologies for my long mail.

I noticed that the "Advanced techniques with Spark Declarative Pipeline" content has been significantly revised and now includes newer concepts such as flows and Iceberg reads, which appear to be quite different from the earlier material. This seems to be a substantial shift in the curriculum.

Given this, I would like to seek clarification on the following:

Is the newly introduced Advanced Lakeflow / DLT content (including flows and Iceberg integration) mandatory for the Data Engineer Professional Certification exam?
Should we continue to prepare the earlier Structured Streaming topics, such as:

Structured Streaming fundamentals
Reading from streaming queries
Streaming from Delta Lake
Aggregations, time windows, and watermarks
Event time processing
Trigger types and output modes
Stream joins
Auto Loader ingestion patterns
Data quality enforcement
Streaming ETL labs
Since the exam guide has not been updated post-November 2025, could you please confirm the final, module-wise list of topics that are currently in scope for the certification exam?

I have attached a snapshot of the Advanced module (Module 1) for reference—could you please confirm if this reflects the expected coverage for the exam?

These recent changes have made it slightly challenging to determine the correct preparation path, and I want to ensure I am focusing on the most relevant and up-to-date material.
