We're thrilled to introduce the DAIS 2026 Community Virtual Challenge, open to every member of the Databricks Community, wherever you are in the world.

What is it?

Create a project using Databricks Free Edition, share it with the Community, and compete for a chance to win Community swag.

Here's how to participate

🛠️ Create Build any project on Databricks Free Edition – solve something that matters to you, whether it's a business problem, a personal project, or an idea you've always wanted to explore.

🎥 Record Record a short demo video of 2–5 minutes, walking through your project and explaining what it does. Upload it to YouTube, Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.
Make sure the video is accessible – set to "Anyone with the link can view" or share with community@databricks.com before submitting.

✍️ Post Write a post in the Community Articles section describing what you built and what you achieved. No code required – just share your experience and learnings. You may optionally include the demo video, but it is not mandatory.

📋 Submit Fill out the submission form with your video link, community post link, and project details.

How can you win this?

Our judges – Databricks Community Fellows (our elite squad of internal experts) and Community Team – will review every submission and score it across 5 criteria, each worth 10 points:

⚡ Innovation	Does it introduce a fresh approach or solve a problem in a new way?	10
🌍 Real-World Relevance	Does the project solve a real problem or have practical value?	10

🎥 Project Showcase	Does the video effectively communicate what was built and why it matters?	10
Total		50

Tiebreaker: In case of a tie, the entry with more likes on their project post wins. So share your Community post and get the votes rolling!
