I am in the process of completing the Data Bricks Getting Started with Data Engineering (free) course. I am at the stage in the self-paced video labeled Demo:Creating and Working with a Delta Table is demonstrated. The video demonstration shows the instructor using the DEWD00 - 01-Creating and Working with a Delta Table.

Where specifically in the Databricks web-site can I access the materials so that I too can perform the steps that the self-paced demonstration is reviewing?

I have purchased the $200 subscription, believing I would easily be able to locate, and access the labs that accompany the Data Bricks Getting Started with Data Engineering (free version) material; however, I cannot find the materials that I believe accompany this course

Earlier I paid $500 to enroll in the learning modules for the Associate, and Professional Data Engineering courses, and learned that it is recommended that I complete the Data Bricks Getting Started with Data Engineering (free) course, but it is difficult to properly complete the free course without also being able to access the labs.

Was there supposed to be embedded in the course links to the relevant materials? If not, why isn't there any links to the materials?

-Kirk

Trying to complete the free self paced course Get Started with Databricks for Data Engineering.

I understand that you need to pay for subscription of Academy Labs to be able to have access to the material.

This subscription is $200. And if you intend to purchase individual labs that's $75. Does this $200 really gives you the access to all of them (110) for an year?

You can pay . but in my opinion the best way to learn is getting hands on . Dont rush . Lets the concepts sink in and spend time building your own demos that are similar to what you seen in the course . There are plenty of ways to do that with the latest Gen AI tools (Claude code ,Chatgpt , Perplexity ) available out there .Here is how I would setup and use claude code with databricks.

https://medium.com/@dbxdev/turning-databricks-into-an-ai-pair-programmer-with-claude-powered-coding-agents-1665ad0bb43f

Yes – with the Databricks Academy Labs Subscription, you get access to multiple self-paced courses along with their associated labs for one full year.

The full list of included courses is outlined on the Subscription Plans page under the What’s included section, where you can see all the available labs covered in the subscription.

If I pay $1500 for Databricks Blended Learning or $200 Databricks Academy Labs; will I get access to associated lab environments too? Because I see the free version (for example: https://customer-academy.databricks.com/learn/courses/3603/get-started-with-databricks-for-data-warehousing/lessons/38845/demo-using-delta-lake-features-with-databricks-sql) talks about Classroom setup. In my environment I don't have that SQL file nor do I have dedicate compute for lab environment. How can I ensure I can successfully follow along.

It looks like you may have enrolled in the free self-paced version of the course. Since you have a Databricks Academy Labs subscription, you'll need to enroll in the Academy Labs version of the same course instead.

You can search for it under the Catalogs in My Subscription and enroll from there.
Once enrolled in that version, you’ll see a SP lab environment in the syllabus, which is your lab environment. From there, you’ll be able to access the notebooks shown in the demo.
