&lt;P&gt;Databricks now fully supports creating Apache Iceberg managed tables in Unity Catalog, and this capability is available in Public Preview (not just private preview). &lt;BR /&gt;These managed Iceberg tables can be read and written by Databricks and external Iceberg clients using Unity Catalog’s Iceberg REST Catalog APIs.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Requirements:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Unity Catalog enabled&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Databricks Runtime 16.4 LTS or above&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Required table creation permissions&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/UL&gt;
