@alfredoigmen Free Edition comes with few limitations as it incurs cost to Databricks. As in your case the SQL warehouse is limited to a 2X-Small cluster size. Many more, read here-https://docs.databricks.com/aws/en/getting-started/free-edition-limitations

Hi @alfredoigmen ,

Do you have a Notebook with active Serverless (attached to it) and/or an ETL pipeline running at the same time? Free Edition is limited in resources usage, so for smooth experience the recommendation is to run 1-2 workloads in parallel (SQL query / notebook / ETL pipeline) at a time.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,

@alfredoigmen Databricks workspace's compute resources will be shut down and unavailable for the rest of the day (a month in extreme cases) if you exceed the quota. While the compute will be unavailable, Data and settings will not be deleted. You can resume the work when the limit resets. Free Edition accounts may not be used for commercial purposes

More details here
