I found out that it is still available, the link for login is: Login - Databricks Community Edition
but - big BUT -

you should remove punctuation from the email you used for registering when logging in.

The option for signing up without a cloud provider is quite hidden though, you can reach it through https://www.databricks.com/try-databricks#account and, after inserting personal data on the first screen, you will be presented the options in the screenshot. You can then choose Community Edition, BUT REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE TO LOGIN TO COMMUNITY EDITION REMOVING SOME SPECIAL CHARACTERS FROM YOUR ORIGINAL EMAIL ADDRESS.

Tbh I did not have links to documentation, I opened a ticket and they told me that in my case I had to remove "." from my name.surname@gmail.com email address when logging.

Hth,

Elisa
