Notebook is not attaching to a cluster, asks to contact your administrator. Completely stumped. Please help.

Please provide more details. Are you administrator? Can you create cluster? What edition is it (community, Azure)?

I met the same problem, too. I created a new one with runtime - 10.0 (includes Apache Spark 3.2.0, Scala 2.12) instead of 9.1 LTS(Scala 2.12, Spark 3.1.2), which works.

Hi @gaurav khanna​ , this may happen if you do not have appropriate level permissions on the cluster or you may only have 'Can read' on a notebook that doesn't allow detach and reattach.

In such cases, you can ask your admin to grant you the necessary permissions.

@Yuanyue Liu​ When you create a new notebook/cluster you get the owner access with 'Can Manage'. permissions by default.

If you still get an error where the notebook doesn't attach to the cluster - in such cases, it must be that your cluster is unhealthy or your driver has crashed. You can try restarting your cluster then.
