Gcs databricks community

Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to connect my Databricks community account with a Google cloud storage account via a notebook.
I tried to connect it via the json key of my gcs service account but the notebook always gives this error when I want to connect my bucket
java.io.IOException: Error getting access token from metadata server at: http://169.254.169.254/computeMetadata/v1/instance/service-accounts/default/token
As if it did not have the necessary permissions.
I would like to know if the problem was related to the limitations of your community version or to something that I obviously cannot unlock.
Thanks in advance for your availability.
Best regards.

Hi @oricaruso

To connect to GCS, you typically need to set the service account JSON key in the cluster’s Spark config, not just in the notebook. However, since the Community Edition has several limitations, like the absence of secret scopes, restricted network access, and limited security features, it often can’t support this type of integration reliably. For full and consistent support, a paid Databricks workspace is required.
