How to save notebooks for later

jonescm128

Is there a way to save a notebook so I can access it intermittently? I can access in "recents" for up to a month but if I don't use the notebooks that often, is there another way I can save and access them? Is there a way to "favorite" notebooks that can be accessed past one month?

Hi @jonescm128,

Yes. You can. Just add them to your favourites. Not based on the criteria you are suggesting (such as the past month) because those will automatically appear in the recents.

Instead, you can add the notebooks to your favourites. Just open the notebook --> File --> Add to Favourites as shown below.

You can also go the Workspace and add folders/notebooks/SQL queries etc to the favourites as shown below.

They should then start appearing in your homepage favourites as shown below.

Is that what you are looking for?

Favorites feature exists for Unity Catalog objects within the schema browser and generally not for the notebooks.

You can follow below

Organize notebooks into folders

You can use the Workspace browser (Workspace in the left sidebar) to create folders and organize your notebooks by project, team or frequency of use. Notebooks placed in folders persist permanently and they never expire or disappear. You can create subfolders for finer organization.

Use Search

You can click the Search field in the top bar and type the notebook name. The full Search results page allows you filter by object type, owner or last modified date. The search covers the entire workspace.

Recents

Recents in the search dropdown is a convenience list sorted by last opened date is a quick-access view. Your notebooks are permanently saved in your Home folder (/Workspace/Users/userid/) or wherever you have placed them in the workspace folder hierarchy. They remain there until you explicitly delete them.
