System Tables

Hi,

I've recently enabled the billing schema in system tables, but still not able to view it in catalog. I am both an account admin and workspace admin, as well as an owner of the workspace in Azure. A colleague (who used to be Azure AD admin but no longer has that permission enabled) can see the schema and its tables. Another colleague who has the same permissions as myself but is also a catalog admin can see the schema in catalog but not its underlying data.

The owner is system user which is obviously part of the system and must automatically assign permissions based on roles but it is unclear to me which specific roles I need to get access. Documentation is very poor on this.

Any ideas?

Hi @millie_dbrx_use,  The account admin can see the billing schema. To see the schema you must be either account or metastore admin or have someone grant you the rights to the schema via Unity Catalog.

Thanks @Kaniz_Fatma - by account admin, do you mean at an Azure level? I am already a Databricks account admin and cannot see the schema

Hi  @dbrx_user, If you're a Databricks account admin and cannot see the schema you need to open a Support ticket as it's a bug. Account (and metastore) admins should see all the enabled schemas by default.

You should ask someone to grant you rights to system.billing via Unity Catalog.
