Looking forward to supporting and contributing.  I also have a large office space we can use for events.  Just returned from a Databricks meet-up in Dallas and hoping to have one in SF soon.

Hi Svish,

Welcome to the Databricks Community! Itโ€™s great to have you here.

Thatโ€™s amazing to hear you offering space for a meetup in Concord could be a great way to bring fellow Databricks users together. Feel free to share this within your network to bring them into the community and collaborate on organizing the event. We're here to support!

Thanks

Rishabh

Hi, I am brand new to Databricks and am excited by the technology. Users groups are a great way to get involved and I am eager to contribute. I have a long history of working with and leading data oriented user groups like the Northern California Oracle Users Group and the Toronto ZIM users Group so I'm sure I will have something useful to add.

@Rishabh_Tiwari @James_Allen  can we plan a meetup anytime soon. My company is just starting with Databricks so I dont have much of network.

Maybe the three of us can start and recruit others along the way!!

Any of you in the Bay Area?/

We did have a meet up in January and decided to coordinate events on a quarterly basis.  The next event will most likely be in April.  Please be on the lookout for communications via this channel soon.

In my experience with user groups, quarterly is about right for formal meetings with an agenda, speakers etc. It takes a fair bit of work to organize these and mostly people are doing it on their own time so it's hard to have them more often. Mind you there can also be an informal monthly event at a bar/restaurant. It's good to have those near a Databricks office so someone from the company can easily drop by for a beer and a snack. Something like first Tuesday of the month, always the same location and around 5:00 before the place gets busy. You can usually get some concession from the venue.

Yes, I can meet anywhere in the Bay Area. Currently based in Burlingame.
