Thank you so much for offering your support and space for hosting meetupsโthis is fantastic news! We're excited to have both you and @DChoi_WestMonro leading the Bay Area user group together as co-leads. Your collaboration will bring diverse perspectives and energy to the group, helping to make it an active and engaging space for all members.
I'll coordinate with you both via email shortly to assign the co-leadership roles and discuss the next steps. Looking forward to building something truly special together for the Databricks community in the Bay Area!

Looking forward to supporting and contributing. I also have a large office space we can use for events. Just returned from a Databricks meet-up in Dallas and hoping to have one in SF soon.

I am just discovering Databricks community! What fun..I will be able to assist with space at my workplace in Concord. I know there are quite a few companies in Concord and I m certain we have fellow Databrickers who would like to connect!

Hi Svish,
Welcome to the Databricks Community! Itโs great to have you here.
Thatโs amazing to hear you offering space for a meetup in Concord could be a great way to bring fellow Databricks users together. Feel free to share this within your network to bring them into the community and collaborate on organizing the event. We're here to support!
Thanks
Rishabh
Thursday
Hi, I am brand new to Databricks and am excited by the technology. Users groups are a great way to get involved and I am eager to contribute. I have a long history of working with and leading data oriented user groups like the Northern California Oracle Users Group and the Toronto ZIM users Group so I'm sure I will have something useful to add.

@Rishabh_Tiwari @James_Allen can we plan a meetup anytime soon. My company is just starting with Databricks so I dont have much of network.
Maybe the three of us can start and recruit others along the way!!
Any of you in the Bay Area?/
Thursday
We did have a meet up in January and decided to coordinate events on a quarterly basis. The next event will most likely be in April. Please be on the lookout for communications via this channel soon.
Thursday
In my experience with user groups, quarterly is about right for formal meetings with an agenda, speakers etc. It takes a fair bit of work to organize these and mostly people are doing it on their own time so it's hard to have them more often. Mind you there can also be an informal monthly event at a bar/restaurant. It's good to have those near a Databricks office so someone from the company can easily drop by for a beer and a snack. Something like first Tuesday of the month, always the same location and around 5:00 before the place gets busy. You can usually get some concession from the venue.

Yes, I can meet anywhere in the Bay Area. Currently based in Burlingame.
Thursday
@James_Allen my office is in Concord and I would very much like to arrange a meetup at my office if it works for you
Thursday
@Mike_Gerardi @DChoi_WestMonro can you join us too for a meet up in Concord
Join a Regional User Group to connect with local Databricks users. Events will be happening in your city, and you wonโt want to miss the chance to attend and share knowledge.
If there isnโt a group near you, start one and help create a community that brings people together.
