Position Summary

The Data Engineer is responsible for helping implement processes required of a data processing pipeline in support of our products and services. The primary responsibilities include implementing ETL (extract, transform and load) pipelines, monitoring/maintaining data pipeline performance. The Data Engineer is experienced in data extraction, data exploration, data manipulation, reporting, and has 8 years of experience working on solutions that collect, process, store and analyze data. The Data Engineer can work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks.

Essential Tasks

  • Experience in the Databricks platform.

  • Experience coding in Python.

  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Proficiency working with complex applications across various data sources and platforms.

  • Proficiency using data to solve data challenges and questions.

  • Proficiency designing solutions leveraging a diverse assortment of data sources.

  • Proficiency with tools to perform ETL such as SQL Server Integration Services, Databricks, Spark, Snowflake, Fabric.

  • Proficiency with common database technologies, such as SQL Database/Server, SQL Data Warehouse, Oracle, MySQL, and other data sources, such as Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Blob Storage.

  • Understanding of data governance and creating data dictionaries.

  • Understanding of data warehouse and datamart design.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Non-Technical Skills
  • Proficient at developing software following Agile methodologies.

  • Proficient at communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficient at collaboration and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

  • Competent working with product management to build and maintain the product backlog.

  • Competent providing accurate estimates and complete tasks on time.

  • Competent follow existing coding standards.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field.

  • 8 years of relevant experience.

  • Related Technologies and Skills: Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Data governance, Data hygiene, Data warehouse, Databricks, Delta Live Tables, Excel, Machine Learning, ML, MLFlow, MLOps, Power BI, Python, REST, Security, Spark, SQL Server, SSIS, Streaming, T-SQL, Unity Catalog.

  • Programming/Scripting Languages:  SQL, T-SQL, Python, PowerShell.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 to $105,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, geographic location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
