How do i fix QB Error code 6000 301?

When I try to access my company files, I keep getting the error 6000 301 in QB. Please assist me in fixing this mistake.

Are you facing QB error 6000 301 while trying to log in to your company file in QB Desktop and don’t know what should be done next? If yes, then you should not panic at all because through this post I am going to tell you everything you need to know about error 6000 301 and how to fix this error.

QB Desktop error 6000 301 pops on the computer screen with an error message, which reads, “An error occurred when QB  Desktop tried to access the company file. Please try again.” An Outdated version of the QB Desktop application could be the major reason behind this issue.

You can follow these two solutions mentioned below to fix this error:

Solution 1) Manually rename the QB support files

1. Open File Explorer by pressing Windows + E keys on your keyboard.
2. Go to the QB folder that has your company file (.QBW).
3. Find the files with the same name as your company file but with .tlg, .nd, and/or .dsn extensions.
4. Right-click the .dsn (Data Source Name) file and select the Rename option.
5. Add the word “.OLD” at the end of the file name.
6. Similarly, rename the .nd (Network Descriptor) and .tlg (Transaction Log) files.
7. Open QB Desktop and try to log in to your company file.

Solution 2) Get the latest updates available for your QB Desktop

1. Click on the Windows logo.
2. Look for “QB Desktop” and right-click the QB Desktop icon.
3. From the set of options, select Run as administrator.
4. While on the No Company Open window, open the Help menu.
5. From the drop-down list of options, select Update QB Desktop.
6. Select the Options tab and then click on the Mark All option.
7. Select the Save option.
8. Click on the Update Now tab and checkmark the checkbox next to Reset Update.
9. Select the Get Updates option to get the updates present for your QB Desktop.
10. After that, close QB Desktop and reopen it.
11. On the QB Update Service pop-up, select the Yes option.
12. When the updating of QB Desktop finishes, restart your computer.
13. Open QB Desktop and check whether you can log in to your company file this time.
