You can follow these two solutions mentioned below to fix this error:
Solution 1) Manually rename the QB support files
- Open File Explorer by pressing Windows + E keys on your keyboard.
- Go to the QB folder that has your company file (.QBW).
- Find the files with the same name as your company file but with .tlg, .nd, and/or .dsn extensions.
- Right-click the .dsn (Data Source Name) file and select the Rename option.
- Add the word โ.OLDโ at the end of the file name.
- Similarly, rename the .nd (Network Descriptor) and .tlg (Transaction Log) files.
- Open QB Desktop and try to log in to your company file.
Solution 2) Get the latest updates available for your QB Desktop
- Click on the Windows logo.
- Look for โQB Desktopโ and right-click the QB Desktop icon.
- From the set of options, select Run as administrator.
- While on the No Company Open window, open the Help menu.
- From the drop-down list of options, select Update QB Desktop.
- Select the Options tab and then click on the Mark All option.
- Select the Save option.
- Click on the Update Now tab and checkmark the checkbox next to Reset Update.
- Select the Get Updates option to get the updates present for your QB Desktop.
- After that, close QB Desktop and reopen it.
- On the QB Update Service pop-up, select the Yes option.
- When the updating of QB Desktop finishes, restart your computer.
- Open QB Desktop and check whether you can log in to your company file this time.
