HI Team

I have setup the SAT for my workspace . Do i need to change the PAT token everytime it expires or is there another workaround . How to change the pat token for for already established sat ?

Hi @manoj_2355ca, To manage your Personal Access Tokens (PATs) effectively, here are some key points:

1. Expiration of PATs:

   • PATs have an expiration date, but the good news is that if you regenerate or remove a PAT, your depl...¹.
   • The PAT is used only at the time of registering the agent and not for subsequent communication. So, even if it expires, your agents will still function properly.

2. Renewing or Modifying PATs:

   • To renew or modify your PATs, follow these steps:
     1. Sign in to your organization on Azure DevOps.
     2. Open your user settings and select Personal access tokens.
     3. Click + New Token to create a new token.
     4. Name your token, select the organization where you want to use it, and set an expiration period².
     5. If you need to modify an existing token, select it from the list, click Edit, and adjust the token n...².
     6. Remember that you can revoke a PAT at any time if needed².

3. Updating PATs for Established Deployment Groups:

   • If you regenerate the PAT, you don’t necessarily need to update the deployed agents. The existing agents will continue to work as long as you don’t change their settings¹.
   • However, if you want to be proactive, you can reconfigure the agents with the new PAT after regenerating it.

In summary, while PATs have an expiration date, they won’t disrupt your deployment groups. Feel free to manage and update them as needed, and your established agents will keep doing their job! 😊🚀
