How Long are Databricks runtimes supported for? How often are they updated?

You can learn more about the Databricks runtime support lifecycle here (AWS | Azure | GCP).

Long Term Support (LTS) runtimes are released every 6 months and supported for 2 years.

Let us know if you have any additional questions on this in the comments!

DBR 10.3 is the most stable as of now.

DBR 11.3 is the latest LTS runtime. All LTS runtimes would be considered stable. Each runtime corresponds with a specific version of Spark, Python, Java, library versions etc. I would suggest looking at the runtime release notes to understand what version of these dependencies are included for compatibility purposes: https://docs.databricks.com/release-notes/runtime/11.3.html
