Something very strange has happened. When trying to login to my databricks community edition account. I'm getting the email with my verification code. but after entring that code, I'm getting the error message : "User is not a member of this workspace"
Has anybody had that issue before ?
Hoping that support will at minimum be able to restore my notebooks 🤞

May I know the workspace id to look for some information internally?

Hello Walter, Thanks for reaching out to me. I think that the workspace ID is : 2341548954224450. Based on the following page : https://kb.databricks.com/administration/find-your-workspace-id and URL un my browser history that always started with : https://community.cloud.databricks.com/?o=2341548954224450

I am facing the same issue. Did you manage to solve it?

No yet, hopefully Walter will find a solution.

I have checked the status of the workspace based on the workspace id you have provided and it has showed as CANCELLED, you havent receive any email mentioning that your period has ended?
I just tested on my side and I receive same error as I dont have any active Community edition workspace

You can refer to https://docs.databricks.com/en/getting-started/community-edition.html#sign-up-for-databricks-communi... it is a 30 days trial

Hi Walter, thanks for your looking. I didn't received any email mentioning period has ended and the following URL says "The Databricks Community Edition access is not time-limited and users will not incur AWS costs for their cluster usage." (under : What is the difference between the Databricks Community Edition and the full Databricks Platform?).
Is there a way to collect my notebooks and have my account reactivated or reset ?

I am digging some more on this will get back to you soon

There is a process that can be followed to restore your community edition workspace, to do this please send an email to feedback@databricks.com mentioning that you lost access to http://community.cloud.databricks.com

Will do so. I already wrote an email 3 days ago, but I'm going to send a new one including information from this discussion (Workspace ID and mention that the account was cancelled)

I apologize for hearing this, as mentioned above there is a process to reestablish your workspaces, based on what I found they can be cancelled it some suspicious activity has been detected.
To recover the notebook the only way will be by recovering the workspace which unfortunately I dont have the rights to do it, only the members of this group can.

Hi @Walter_C , Thanks for the update.
To be fair, did run some apt install commands to test CDC the day before I lost the workspace. Namely installing postgres & debezium and also unsuccessfully attempting airbyte. Though it was for educational purpose, I can understand that these actions may have been detected as suspicious activity.
Anyway, I'm still hoping to recovers my notebooks. Though not yet conclusive I did receive my first answer from help@databricks.com
