Free edition keeps giving following error for serverless compute and SQL warehouse
2 weeks ago
@szymon_dybczak @WiliamRosa . I got to the bottom of the problem. This is my fault. Looks like I was in the "Community Edition" rather than the "Free". I had to 'create' a free edition though I used the existing account. Apologies for the confusion.

hi @bizkit
Could you try the two suggested solutions in this thread:
https://community.databricks.com/t5/data-engineering/in-data-bricks-free-edition-serverless-compute-...
I'm hopeful they help, but if not let me know and I'll have another look!

OC,
I tried
1. deleting the old notebook and creating a new one and selecting General Compute
2. I also deleted the existing instance and created a new one. After this i tried creating a SQL wearhouse
3. Whether I create a new instance or delete existing notebook the result is the same.
4. From the other thread --"I experienced the same yesterday when I imported some of my notebooks. I noticed that this error only appeared for imported notebooks because the environment version was 1 by default. Changing the environment version to 2 solved the problem for me. Maybe this is the solution for your case too". -- This is not applicable to me as i did not import the notebook. Yet I tried selecting '4' in a newly created notebook. Its the same result even if I select 1, 2 or 3. This looks like something else. Request you to investigate. I really need to get this working. I am targeting at least 2 certifications by November

Hi @bizkit ,
This is really weird, How did you even create warehouse in Free Edition? You shouldn't be able to do that. There's following limitation:
In my Free Edition I cannot create any other warehouse. I can only use existing one:

Hi @bizkit
I tested it with the free edition and actually reached the same point as @szymon_dybczak . Iโll even share the link with the limitations he mentioned, which is exactly as far as I got as well:
