On April 12, 2025, Jaipur's data and AI community came alive at the first Databricks User Group Meetup, a collaborative effort by Databricks, Origin, and Arya College of Engineering & IT. The event was a vibrant convergence of students, professionals, and industry leaders, all united by a shared passion for data innovation.
The event brought together over 150 attendees, including 30+ industry delegates and 15+ student volunteers, for a half-day of learning, conversations, and inspiration around data, analytics, and AI.
Highlights from the Day
- Jagmohan kicked off the day by sharing the objective behind the event — to plant the seeds of a vibrant data and AI community in Jaipur. He spoke about the growing need for collaboration between academia and industry and encouraged students to stay curious, upskill, and participate actively in the ecosystem.
- Vibhor shared the story of Databricks’ evolution — from research roots to becoming the backbone of data innovation in modern enterprises.
- Vaibhav’s session unpacked the capabilities of Unity Catalog, showcasing how it enables scalable, secure, and simplified data governance across organizations.
- Ayush walked the audience through the rise of LLMs (Large Language Models), their real-world applications, and where their current limitations lie — making complex topics accessible and relatable.
- The panel discussion, "From Campus to Career: Student Paths in AI, Data & Analytics," was one of the most interactive parts of the event. The session sparked enthusiastic questions from students and delegates — from how to break into data careers to how to get started with Databricks. The curiosity and energy in the room reflected a real hunger to learn and grow.
Behind the Scenes: Making It Happen
A lot of thoughtful planning and coordination went into making this event a reality. From curating content to managing logistics and follow-ups, it was a true team effort.
