At Shamrock we are on AWS for Databricks, although we have development teams that leverage GCP and now have Power BI stood up in Azure. AWS is the choice for us mainly because it is our main cloud platform and where most of our data resides already. Had we decided to go with Azure as we were transitioning from on-prem to the cloud I imagine we would be using hosting our Databricks from Azure instead.

At Burns & McDonnell, we are mainly on Azure, with some footprint in AWS dbrix. We also have a lot of GCP activity spinning up from an innovation perspective. Primarily because of interoperability on Azure, and most of our cloud infrastructure is on Azure. These footprints will change and evolve as the business grows.

We primarily use Databricks on Azure. One major reason is the seamless integration with Azure services like Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Machine Learning, which creates a unified environment for end-to-end data processing and advanced analytics. This ecosystem allows me to leverage Azure Active Directory for secure identity management and easily scale workloads while ensuring robust data governance. Azure Databricks also offers optimized performance, particularly for real-time analytics and large-scale data transformations, making it my platform of choice for building scalable, efficient data pipelines.
