Databricks Runtime for ML is optimized for machine learning workloads and comes pre-installed with many of the most popular ML libraries. You can install additional packages in both runtimes. Databricks Runtime for ML is essentially an extension of the Databricks Runtime. See documentation.

Databricks Runtime ML is a variant of Databricks Runtime that adds multiple popular machine learning libraries, including TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, and XGBoost.
