Portland Databricks User Group Kickoff Meetup - August 27th
Are you into Databricks or Open Source? Want to connect with others in Portland who are, too? Join us for the kickoff meeting of the Portland Databricks User Group, hosted by @mnorland — user group leader for Portland. 📅 Date: Wednesday, August 27 🕔 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM 📍 Location: Beaverton City Library – Meeting Room A 12375 SW 5th Street Beaverton, OR 97005 We’ll have food from local favorites — Top Burmese, 1st Street Pocha, and Hapa Pizza (as featured in the NYT). ⚡A new Portland Databricks User Group is launching next Wednesday, August 27. If you're passionate about the Databricks platform or open‑source data + AI projects, connect with peers who share that energy and help build the community. ⚡ 💡Dr. Drew Minkin will give a talk titled "AI Meets Cubes: A Brief Introduction to Databricks Metric Views for DAX Users" which will show the power and elegance of a new Unity Catalog analytic schema called a Metric View. 🦉Peter Davis, a Senior Solutions Architect with Databricks, will present on Advanced AI/BI Dashboards and Genie. 🗓 When: Wednesday, August 27th, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM 📍 Where: Beaverton City Library – Meeting Room A (12375 SW 5th Street, Beaverton, OR) https://maps.apple.com/?address=12375%20SW%205th%20Street,%20Beaverton,%20OR%2097005 🍴 What’s included: Delicious bites from local favorites Top Burmese, 1st Street Pocha, and Hapa Pizza.
