Dashboard default date format changed from YYYY-MM-DD to DD/MM/YYYY

I noticed a change in date formatting behavior in my dashboards starting yesterday.

Details:

  • My Workspace Setting: Default date format is set to YYYY-MM-DD (confirmed in user settings)
  • Issue: Any new date fields added to dashboards are defaulting to DD/MM/YYYY instead of the workspace default.
  • This is only happening in dashboard visuals; SQL query outputs and other workspace displays still follow the correct format.

Example:

  • Dashboard: Payroll JE – created Monday.
  • Dates added on Monday displayed as YYYY-MM-DD.
  • Dates added yesterday display as DD/MM/YYYY.

Has anyone else seen this change recently? Is this tied to a Databricks update, or is there a dashboard-specific setting I might be missing?

Hi @eliles ,

You can check dashboard settings. From there you can change locale configuration, i.e set number and date formatting standards based on geographic or cultural preferences
