Issue: The Databricks Excel Add-in launches authentication in an external browser window rather than within the Excel task pane. The Unity Catalog does display in the external browser window, but after sign-in, Excel remains stuck spinning/loading indefinitely.
Affected Platforms: Reproduced on both Windows and macOS using Microsoft 365 Excel.
Deployment Method: The add-in is side-loaded through a custom XML manifest rather than deployed tenant-wide from the Microsoft Marketplace.
Troubleshooting Completed:
- Verified and modified manifest trust and authentication settings.
- Cleared Excel Web Extensions Framework (WEF) caches and reloaded the manifest.
- Tested browser settings, pop-up permissions, cookies, and documented authentication workarounds.
- Reproduced on multiple independent Windows and Mac installations.
Business Impact: Users cannot refresh a recurring internal report through the add-in and must perform manual exports from the Databricks UI as a temporary workaround.
Suspected Cause: The issue may be tied to an August 2026 update to the Databricks Excel Add-in that introduced new features such as cascading filters and Genie One integration. I received a certification voucher sent to my corporate email address, and I have a few questions I couldn't find clear answers to in the public docs. I was hoping someone here could help clarify:

Can I use this voucher on my personal Databricks account?
The voucher was sent to my company email, but my Databricks Academy/certification account is under my personal email. Are these vouchers tied to the specific account/email domain, or can they be applied to any account at checkout?
Is this a free exam voucher or a discount voucher?
The email I received doesn't explicitly state whether this covers the full exam fee or just a percentage discount. Is there a way to verify this before I reach the payment step?

How can I check the expiry date?
I don't see a clear expiration date in the email. Do these vouchers typically have a standard validity period (e.g., 90 days), and is there somewhere I can confirm the exact deadline?

For context: I'm currently employed at a company with a Databricks relationship, but I'm asking from a personal learner perspective since I'd like to take the exam on my own account.

I recently scheduled my certification exam for 16 August 2026. Unfortunately, due to a mistake while booking the exam, I selected the Databricks Certified Data Analyst Associate instead of the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate.

I realized the mistake after completing the registration. I have already redeemed a 100% discount voucher provided by my company for this certification.

Could you please help me change my current exam registration to the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate exam and allow me to reuse the same company-provided voucher?

Support Ticket Unanswered – Reschedule Issue Due to Delayed Support Response

I am looking for assistance or escalation regarding an open support request (Ticket #00977505) that has gone unanswered for nearly a week.

Here is a brief summary of the timeline and issue:

July 28, 2026: I submitted a High Priority support ticket because future exam dates were grayed out in the system, preventing me from rescheduling my test.
July 31, 2026: I did follow-up on the ticket asking for an update.
August 1, 2026: I received my first response from support, informing me that the last exam date for the voucher was July 31, 2026, and the ticket was marked as Closed.

Because support took four days to reply, the deadline passed before I was given any response or options to take action, through no fault of my own. Additionally, the original voucher terms communicated that registration simply needed to occur before the end date, not completion of the test itself.

I replied on August 1 requesting that Ticket #00977505 be reopened and escalated for either a voucher extension/reschedule or a full refund, but I have not received any follow-up since.

Could a community manager or Databricks team member please help escalate this ticket to the certification/training support team?

Hi. We are in the process of becoming Databricks partner. We have a bunch of folks (Data Engineers + Data Scientists) who are getting certified as it's one of the milestones.

However there is no mention of Data Analyst certifications to be part of the partnership program, which is strange. I thought Databricks does provide a very popular and strong Data Analyst certifications.

Can anyone clarify if my assumptions are correct?

Can't find the hands-on labs for the free Data Engineer learning path — where do I get them?

I'm going through the free, self-paced "Data Engineering with Databricks" learning path on Databricks Academy to prep for the Data Engineer Associate exam. The videos show demos but I can't find any matching labs to actually run myself.

I'm used to Coursera, where the lab is built right into the course and you just run it alongside the video. Is there an equivalent for this Databricks Academy path, or is the free version genuinely just videos with no hands-on component?

A few specific questions:

Is there somewhere official I'm missing where these exact labs live for free, or are they only available through the paid Instructor-Led Training / Databricks Academy Labs subscription?
If they're paid-only, is it actually worth paying for, or do most people just recreate the demos themselves in a free workspace

I am writing to follow up regarding the 50% certification voucher associated with the Databricks Learning Festival held from 15 June to 6 July.

I successfully completed the courses under the Data Analyst track before the 6 July deadline and was expecting the voucher to be issued approximately one week after the event concluded. Unfortunately, I have not yet received it.

Since then, I have posted two comments requesting assistance and a resolution, but I have not received any response. From the discussions on the event page, it also appears that many other participants are experiencing the same issue.

I am very eager to sit for the Data Analyst certification exam, and receiving the voucher would make a significant difference. I would greatly appreciate it if you could investigate the matter and advise on the status of my voucher.
