Hi, If you were using the new Databricks Free Edition, your data may still be available. It’s possible you signed into a new workspace/account.
Try signing out and logging back in using the exact same email and sign-in method (Google, Microsoft, or email OTP) you originally used.
If you were using the older Community Edition, that’s different since Community Edition has been retired.

Most likely you're not seeing lost data. You've landed in a different Databricks account/workspace than the one your Free Edition work lives in. When the sign-in flow asked "free or subscription" and you went through OTP again, it probably created or opened a new account tied to the same email, and that account has an empty workspace.
What to try first
-
Use the account switcher. If your email belongs to more than one account, click your account initial at the top-right of the Databricks UI and choose Switch account to pick the other one [1]. Your original Free Edition workspace may be listed there.
-
Find your original workspace URL. Check your browser history, bookmarks, or old Databricks emails for the original workspace address (it looks like
https://<something>.cloud.databricks.com). Opening that URL directly and signing in often takes you straight back to the old workspace. -
Sign in the same way you did originally. Email OTP, Google, and Microsoft sign-ins can resolve to different identities. If you first signed up with "Continue with Google" and this time used email OTP (or vice versa), try the original method.
-
Pick the Free Edition option, not the subscription/trial path. Choosing the paid or trial option creates a separate account, and that account will never contain your Free Edition notebooks or tables. Don't build anything in the new one that you'd then have to untangle.
If none of that shows your old workspace
- Free Edition is meant for learning, and I wouldn't count on recovery of its contents. If the old account is genuinely gone or unreachable, the data may not be restorable.
- Post the email domain (not the full address) and the approximate sign-up date in this thread, and open a request through Databricks support or the Free Edition help channel. They can check whether your email maps to more than one account.
Going forward
- Export important notebooks regularly (File > Export as
.ipynbor.dbc), or better, connect a Git folder to GitHub so your code lives outside the workspace. - Keep your learning datasets in a place you can re-upload from, such as local files or a repo.
If you check the account switcher and tell me what it shows, I can help work out which account is which.
