would you not be able to use Lakeflow Managed connector for SQL Server in this case?

Yes. As per my understanding architecture will be simpler and cheaper with Lakeflow, but Debezium with Kafka is faster with second latency . Hope someone tried both options will clarify it

BTW, are you referring Lakeflow Connect Pipeline using Ingestion Gateway?
