Azure Databricks now allows organisations to configure a custom URL at the account level, providing a unified and branded access point for all users.
Instead of navigating multiple workspace-specific URLs, users can log in once using a single custom URL and seamlessly switch between workspaces without repeated authentication. A Custom URL gives your entire Databricks account one single branded entry point instead of multiple workspace URLs.

The article on Medium includes a diagram that involves Azure Application Gateway, but Databricks' own documentation seems to suggest a quite different setup:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/admin/account-settings/custom-url
Also, it's unclear from that documentation if the domain will be databricks.com or azuredatabricks.net.
Would be good with some clarification here.

I've also landed on the community page after trying to get the custom-url to work. In the accounts console itself the option is mentioned, but it seems it's unavailable for our account at the moment. Are there any prerequisites except for the ones in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/admin/account-settings/custom-url? I'd like to get this to work before getting business users in Databricks.
