Has anyone here explored Postman alternatives within VSCode? I’ve seen mentions of Thunder Client and Apidog. Would love to know if they offer a smoother integration or better functionality.

Hi
I'm using ThunderClient as VS Code extension: https://www.thunderclient.com/
The functionality in the Free version is okay. If you want more features, there are plans for some bucks.

Absolutely! If you’re looking for a Postman alternative inside VS Code, I’d highly recommend checking out Postmate Client. It’s an ultra-lightweight VS Code API client that supports collections, environments, and tests, all while keeping your API data local and private — no cloud involved. Compared to Thunder Client or Apidog, Postmate Client provides a fast, fully integrated experience for developers who want Postman-style workflows directly inside VS Code. Perfect for anyone prioritizing local API testing, speed, and data privacy.

ThunderClient is good, but they make everything paid and login is required. We migrated to Postmmate Client

I may be old fashioned but curl is the only valid answer IMO 🙂

This. And if you want to save them, they can be stored in an .sh script
