Hello Databricks Community,
I created a Databricks Free Edition account yesterday. I was able to log in and use the workspace successfully for several hours.
Today, I am unable to log in. When I try to access my Free Edition account, I receive the message:
“Unable to signup. Please try again, or sign in here to access your existing accounts.”
I have already tried:
- Incognito mode
- Different browsers
- Logging in instead of signing up
Could you please check whether my Free Edition workspace or account provisioning is stuck and help restore access?
Thank you.
Regards,
Srinath.

Hi Srinath,
Sorry you're locked out. That specific message — "Unable to signup… sign in here to access your existing accounts" — usually means your account already exists, so the site is bouncing you because it's treating this as a new sign‑up instead of a login. Since you were able to use it yesterday, a few things commonly fix this (beyond incognito/other browsers, which you've already tried):
- Use the exact sign‑in method you originally used. Free Edition supports only email OTP, Sign in with Google, or Sign in with Microsoft. As your account is a Gmail address, you most likely signed up with Sign in with Google — click that button (not the email sign‑up flow), and use the "sign in here" link in the error message, which routes to existing accounts, rather than an old bookmarked tab.
- Allow third‑party cookies / relax tracking protection. A very common cause of "worked yesterday, blocked today" is the browser blocking cookies between the Databricks login domain and your workspace domain. On Chrome/Edge, allow third‑party cookies (or add a site exception) and disable privacy/ad‑blocking extensions for Databricks; on Safari, temporarily turn off Prevent cross‑site tracking. Then retry in a fresh browser profile.
- Start from the official Free Edition sign‑in page (not a saved tab/link from yesterday) and enter the same email exactly.
If none of that works, this is most likely an account/provisioning issue on Databricks' side, which only Databricks can unblock — the community can't restore accounts. I'd open a request with Databricks support / the Help Center and include: the email used, the exact error text, roughly when it started, and your region. Tagging a moderator here also helps so they can flag it.
Hope you're back in soon!

Hi Thomaz,
Thank you so much for your detailed response and for taking the time to explain the possible causes. I really appreciate your help.
I followed the suggestions you mentioned, including using the correct sign-in method, trying a fresh browser profile, and checking the browser settings, but I'm still getting the same error. Since I was able to access my Databricks Free Edition account without any issues until yesterday, it seems like this may be an account provisioning issue.
I would really appreciate it if you could help escalate this to the appropriate team or let me know the fastest way to get it resolved, as I need access to continue my learning and practice.
Thank you again for your support. I look forward to your guidance and hope this can be resolved as soon as possible.

Hi Thomaz,
I just wanted to check if there are any updates on my account issue.
I'm currently blocked from accessing my Databricks Free Edition account, and it's preventing me from continuing my course and practice. I would really appreciate any update on the investigation or an estimated timeline for resolution.
Thank you for your time and support.
Regards
Srinath.
