Short answer: Not a region issue. Genie One external connections are available in regions where Model Serving is supported, and UKSouth appears supported in your screenshot.
What the docs say:
- Genie One does support custom MCP connections from Unity Catalog via More connections.
- For those connections to appear/usefully work, the workspace needs the Third Party Connectors for Agents preview enabled.
So if you don’t see it in Genie One, the more likely causes are:
- Preview not enabled in that workspace.
- Permission / login issue on the UC connection.
- You may be hitting an older workspace state; Databricks recently fixed an issue that prevented custom MCP servers from being used in Genie One.
