Detail:

• Databricks shipped a June 11, 2026 fix for an issue that prevented custom MCP servers from being used in Genie One.
• Genie One custom/external connections are still Beta and are controlled from the workspace Previews page.

What to check

1. Workspace preview is enabled

   • A workspace admin should go to Workspace > Previews and confirm Third Party Connectors for Agents is enabled.

2. The connection exists and you have access

   • Genie One supports adding a custom MCP connection from Unity Catalog via More connections.
   • After the connection is created, metastore admins and connection owners manage who can use it.

3. You can sign in to it from Genie One

   • In Genie One, click + > More connections > Sign in for that connection.

4. Region is probably not the blocker

   • External connections only require a region where Model Serving is supported.

What to do if it still doesn’t show

• If preview is on and you have connection access, but the connection still does not appear in Genie One, treat it as a workspace/platform issue and open a support ticket referencing the June 11, 2026 “Custom MCP server fix” release note.
• In the ticket, include: workspace URL, region (UK South), connection name, confirmation that it works in AI Playground / Genie Code, and that it is missing only in Genie One.
