What is the long-term plan for the official Databricks Docker Containers?

Hi,

I'd like to ask you, how much resources do you plan to dedicate to the maintenance/development of the official Databricks Docker images, please? Do you have a view on the longer-term plan for these docker images?

It seems to be maintained, but irregularly / still potentially slightly behind (https://github.com/databricks/containers/issues/43)

Especially this one (as it seems to be the base for other ones in the repository): https://github.com/databricks/containers/blob/master/ubuntu/minimal/Dockerfile.

According to the README, it's for Databricks Runtime 7.x and above - was it tested against the newest runtime 8.x?

We are building our own docker images for our Databricks clusters for having full control over our environment. They are all based on the image databricksruntime/standard:latest- so we are quite dependant on this at the moment.

Thank you very much,

Ladislav Sulak.
