I have configured a new databricks workspace through my personal azure account. I cannot see the metastore. Since this is my personal account, I am the admin. Can you please guide me on how to enable the metastore. Thank you.

Hi @anipar ,
Unity Catalog requires workspace on Premium plan or above. Check if you've created workspace with required tier. Another thing that is possible - your workspace hasn't been automatically assigned to metastore.
If so, you need to follow below steps:
1. Go to your workspace
2. On the upper right corner click your workspace name
3. Click manage account
4. Your account console should open
5. Click catalog and then click on your metastore. If you don't see any metastore you can create new one by clicking "Create metastore"
6. Once you select/create metastore you will be able to assing workspace to metastore by clicking "Assign to workspace" button

Thank you @szymon_dybczak , I am unable to see "Manage Account" under my profile. Is there any way to enable me to see Manage Account.

Hello @anipar
Good day!!
Can you please confirm again if you can see the metastore here?
- Log in to your Databricks workspace.
- Click your username in the top bar and select "Manage Account" to open the account console AZURE (https://accounts.azuredatabricks.net)
- You can find metastore in Catalog under the same accounts console.
there are some prerequisites:
- Your workspace must be on the Azure Databricks Premium plan.
- You'll need an Azure storage container (ADLS Gen2) and an access connector (managed identity) if you want to enable managed tables and volumes at the metastore level.
- Ensure you have permissions in Azure to create storage accounts, containers, and managed identities if opting for the storage setup.
Actually in new workspaces, by default metastores are created, please let me know if you were able to see the metastore.
As you are admin, login with admin and you must be able to see the metastore. Please let me know if you need further guidance on this.
NOTE: if you are unable to login into in the accounts console please check: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxmJooGBOyI
Thank you and happy weekend.

The youtube video link was helpful and I can now access the databricks console. But the "Manage Account" option is not visible. But, atleast, I can now create metastore from the admin console. Thank you.

Hello @anipar
Good day!!
if you are admin, then you should see manage account for sure. The reason why you are unable to see manage account is because primary Azure email might not be registered in Databricks with the necessary external user format or permissions. You need to invite yourself for that [04:27]
Also, you havent choosed my answer as solution for the answer 🙂
