How to get Databricks to delete my account?

I have created a test account which I don't need/want anymore. There is no option to delete it (that I can find). I have contacted help@databricks.com about this multiple times, but they ghost me. Is there anything (short of asking a lawyer to write a scary letter) to get them to delete my account? Thanks.

Follow-up problem, I also want to delete my community account for which there is also no option. I'm so tired.

Databricks automatically deactivates and deletes free accounts that remain inactive for a prolonged period. Databricks Free Edition is a no-cost offering & is not covered by the Databricks support policy. If you signed up via a partner (AWS/Azure/GCP), you must cancel your subscription through the partner.

That doesn't sound very... legal. GDPR and all. Any way to make them delete my account short of hiring a lawyer?

And some question for this forum.

Currently, no self-serve option exists to delete a free edition account. You may try contacting help@databricks.com for assistance with removing the account.

Regarding GDPR - interesting take. I wonder if they are obliged to comply with that law, since itโ€™s hosted in the USA.

My take is: They're operating in Germany. They have offices in Germany. Following German or EU law should not be optional. DSGVO ยง17 covers this for sure.

Anyways. Who can help me out deleting the account I had to create for this forum?

Hi @Anonymous, if youโ€™d like to delete your Community account, we can definitely help with that. Please drop an email to community@databricks.com with your request and the email address associated with your Community account.

Regarding deletion of the Free Edition account, let me confirm this and get back to you.
