Databricks Community Code of Conduct

Databricks Community is a group of free platforms, including the community forum and User Group platforms, created for data and AI practitioners, including Databricks users, partners, prospects, and employees, to post questions, get reliable answers from data experts and peers, network, organize User Groups with other members and earn recognition along the way.

The Databricks Community is committed to creating a safe and inclusive experience for our users, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, race, national origin, religion, or similar protected categories. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. All communication — including on posts, comments, public groups, private groups, as well as in email — should be ethical and appropriate for a professional audience, including people of many different backgrounds and experiences. Be kind to others. Act professionally. Remember that harassment, bullying, or sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes of any kind are not appropriate or allowed at any time at any event organized or resource provided by Databricks.

By accessing the Databricks Community, you agree that you are subject to and will comply with this Community Code of Conduct and Databricks’ Terms of Use. The Databricks Community is also subject to Databricks’ Privacy Notice.

User Groups

User Group Chapters and Event Listings

A Databricks User Group is a local or special interest chapter of the Databricks Community which is administered by a User Group Community Organizer. User Group Community Organizers can also list and host local events through Databricks User Groups.

Every new User Group and Community Organizer application will be reviewed by a Databricks User Group team member. The Databricks team reserves the right to reject an application for any reason, such as duplicate locations, lack of clarity, relevant experience, etc.

Event Attendance

Local events organized through Databricks User Groups are independently organized by User Group organizers and are not hosted by Databricks, although they are managed through the Databricks User Groups platform.

When you register for an event, the User Group Community Organizer will receive your registration details and may use it to send you updates about the event and requests for feedback.

Community Organizers are volunteers and are not allowed to profit from their events, but they can organize them and make changes at their discretion. Community organizers are responsible for maintaining a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for all attendees, guests, and speakers and for following Databricks’s Community Organizer Guidelines.

You are responsible for following event-specific policies organizers have set in place in addition to this Code of Conduct. You can report any violations or concerns involving organizers to the Databricks User Group team using the contact information below.

Enforcement

If a user engages in behavior that doesn’t comply with the expectations in this Code of Conduct or other applicable policies or laws, the Databricks Community Team may take any action that we deem appropriate, including warning the user, removing content, excluding the user from certain activities or restricting their privileges, temporarily or permanently suspending the user’s account, and expelling the user from Databricks Community. Users asked to stop any harassing or other unacceptable behaviors are expected to comply immediately.

Please note, while we take all concerns raised seriously, we will use our discretion to determine whether and how to follow up on reported incidents and may decline to take any further action and/or may direct the user to other resources to address the concern. The Databricks Community Team reserves the right to delete any submission, post, communication, or materials, or take action against any user account, at any time, for any reason.

Reporting an Issue

If you believe you have experienced or witnessed a violation of this Community Code of Conduct, or have other concerns, please reach the Databricks Community Team at community@databricks.com for forums support and usergroups@databricks.com for User Groups support and include a description of the situation. The Databricks Community Team can only address complaints about behavior in the Databricks Community. You may also flag inappropriate or spam posts directly within the community forums to alert moderators for review.

The reporting mechanisms under this Code of Conduct are not intended to address criminal activity or emergency situations. If you have been the victim of a crime or there is an emergency, please contact the appropriate authorities.

If you are a user and you are unsure whether your posts, material, and communications are or will be consistent with these expectations, please contact the Databricks Community Team via community@databricks.com or the Databricks User Group Team via usergroups@databricks.com in advance of posting or sharing the communication.
