Are you passionate about data and want to make a difference for thousands of data practitioners? Databricks is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Community Technical Moderator to guide our thriving online community and empower users on their data journeys.

As a Community Technical Moderator, your mission will be to support our users by answering technical questions about the Databricks platform or coordinating with our talented subject matter experts to provide accurate, comprehensive answers. This role is an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical skills in data engineering, Spark, Delta, and more while fostering a collaborative learning environment for Databricks practitioners around the globe.

Your Impact

  • Drive Community Engagement: Encourage peer-to-peer support within our community and ensure that technical questions are responded to promptly and accurately, enhancing member satisfaction.
  • Build Connections: Develop strong partnerships with SMEs and work closely with Product, Engineering, Developer Relations, Marketing, and other internal teams to support community needs.
  • Create and Share Knowledge: Contribute to community documentation and knowledge base articles, ensuring our users have access to valuable resources.
  • Continuous Learning: Strengthen your expertise in Databricks, AWS/Azure, and other open-source tools like Unity Catalog, MLflow, Iceberg, and Hudi through hands-on experience and internal training.

Key Competencies

  • Technical Mastery: Solid understanding of Databricks Data Engineering, Data Analysis, and Machine Learning, along with hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Delta Lake.
  • Platform Knowledge: Proficiency in AWS or Azure data services and familiarity with GCP.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Work effectively across teams, even in fast-paced and low-resource environments.
  • Community Expertise: Familiarity with community platforms like Khoros, Vanilla, or Discourse is a plus, as is past experience as a moderator or admin.
