Concern Regarding Number of Questions in the Exam:Got 65 questions

RiTy19

Today I sit for the exam and noticed that, although the exam guidelines stated that there would be 60 questions to be completed in 120 minutes, I was presented with 65 questions. As all of them were technical and required careful attention, the unexpected increase in the number of questions caused me to rush through the exam, leaving me with no time to review my answers.
I believe this discrepancy may have affected my performance, and I kindly request clarification on this issue.

Hi @RiTy19 ,

Databricks certification exams often include unscored (pilot) questions for research and validation purposes. These are not counted toward your final score, but they are presented just like scored questions โ€” and you arenโ€™t told which ones are unscored.

  • Guidelines mention 60 scored questions but What we see is around: 65 total questions (i.e., 60 scored + 5 unscored)

This is intentional and standard practice in many certification exams (including AWS, Microsoft, etc.) to test potential future questions. Even though the unscored questions donโ€™t affect your score, they do consume your time, and Databricks doesnโ€™t add extra time to compensate which can understandably make the exam feel rushed.

Best practices to follow while giving exam: Try to answer questions fast where ever you know answers. if you cant identify the answer quickly, mark it for review later so that you will get few cycles to go through questions  to be reviewed and can answer by giving focused time. Time management is really important in certification exams.
