Just cleared the Databricks Certified GenAI Engineer
Associate exam with 88% and wanted to share what
actually helped.
The prep experience was a little frustrating. Official materials
are scattered across Academy courses, documentation, and
notebooks with no clear structure. Most third-party
resources I found were still based on the old exam guide
and missed the March 2026 updates completely.
What changed in March 2026 that most resources miss:
- Agent Bricks (Knowledge Assistant, Multi-Agent
Supervisor) added to Section 1
- MCP servers now tested in Section 4
- MLflow Prompt Registry — versioning and lifecycle
- CI/CD for agents
- Persistent agent memory
- Custom Scorers via mlflow.genai.evaluate()
- Application Development is now the heaviest section
at 30%
So I consolidated everything into a structured study app:
- Notes per section with clear callouts on what's
actually tested vs background knowledge
- Section quizzes to test retention
- Covers all 6 sections aligned to the current exam guide
Section 1 is completely free to try:

Happy to answer questions about the exam!
