Creating Serverless Cluster

Gilad-Shai

Hi everyone,

I am trying to create a cluster in Databricks Free Edition, but I keep getting the following error:
"Cannot create serverless cluster, please try again later."

I have attempted this on different days and at different times, but the issue persists. I also tried changing the environment version, but the same error continues to appear.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Gilad-Shai - Can you please go to your compute and see whether you have any existing serverless SQL warehouse is there or not. In free edition, only one serverless is available. Please check it.

Hi @Sanjeeb2024,

Thank you for your response. As shown in the screenshot I attached below, I do not have any other clusters in use. As mentioned earlier, I have tried creating the cluster at different times and on different days, but I am still encountering the same issue.

Or @Gilad-Shai you can directly find it inside the notebook run any code and it will automatically attach if the cluster is already created then you can use it.

you can do one more thing  try to create the cluster from notebook directly it will be created.

Hi @Masood_Joukar & @JAHNAVI ,

@Gilad-Shai

could you please make sure you are using Free-Edition ?
you can see it under Databricks Logo on the left side on the top.

Hi @Gilad-Shai - Looks like you are not using free edition, a very good observation by @Masood_Joukar . Just search for free edition of databricks, register it and you can create a serverless compute. The free edition should have free edition letter ( see the pic below)

Hi @Gilad-Shai

I can not confirm this is a free edition

you can simply create a free edition: Free Edition | Replacing Databricks Community Edition

Thank you all ( @Sanjeeb2024 , @Sanjeeb2024@JAHNAVI , @Manoj12421 ), it works!

It was not a DataBricks Free Edition as @Masood_Joukar  said.
