Each worker node uses 2 IP addresses. A cluster will also reserve 5 addresses for system use.

When using instance pools, you may need to allocate larger virtual networks due to the delay in recycling IP addresses.

The answer varies depending on the cloud provider (as of June 2021) . In GCP, since the architecture is based on GKE , there are additional ip requirements. For more details see
