Regarding Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional recent syllabus change

Dear Team,

I am planning to appear Data Engineer Professional certification in June month end. Now I wanted to know will there be any change in syllabus or exam pattern. Because I heard syllabus has been changed for Data Engineer Associate exam.

Kind request to revert me if there is any update on Data Engineer Professional certification pattern or syllabus change.

Regards
Nagesh

As far as I can see, the latest official syllabus/exam guide is available here,

https://www.databricks.com/sites/default/files/2026-05/databricks-certified-data-engineer-associate-...

Databricks updates the syllabus from time to time, so Iโ€™d recommend following the latest official guide for your preparation.

Hi @npalne,

Iโ€™m not seeing any official update that the Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional exam has changed. The current Data Engineer Professional certification page still points to the November 30, 2025, exam guide, and the assessment details listed there remain 59 scored questions, 120 minutes, and a multiple-choice format.

Youโ€™re right that the Associate exam appears to have been refreshed more recently. The current Data Engineer Associate certification page links to a May 2026 exam guide, which suggests there has been a newer update on the Associate side. I also know a few fiends have taken this recently.

For now, Iโ€™d advise preparing for the Data Engineer Professional using the current Professional exam guide and certification page, since that is the latest official information available. Iโ€™d also recommend checking again closer to your exam date just to make sure nothing has changed. If Databricks updates the exam, there is usually some notice through an updated exam guide or certification page before the change takes effect.

If this answer resolves your question, could you mark it as โ€œAccept as Solutionโ€? That helps other users quickly find the correct fix.
