Hi everyone,
Don't know where to put this specific question. I'm working on a reference data mesh implementation to connect and combine datasets to find matching trials for patients with a specific genetic profile. 
- Do you know anyone that might be interested in this project? If yes, please show the post and send them to me. 
- I'm still figuring out a lot of things. Does anyone know if I can simulate external sharing of my data on Free edition? It doesn't need to work, but it should allow me to demonstrate how one can share patient data for doing the matching.

Hi @steff_horemans,

My guess is that the Free Edition is probably not the best place to demonstrate true external sharing.

Free Edition is positioned as a serverless-only, quota-limited, non-commercial environment, with one workspace, one metastore, and no access to the account console or account-level APIs. Also, there is already at least one community thread where someone hit recipient-permission issues with Delta Sharing on Free Edition, and the working assumption there was that full recipient management is not available in the free tier.

If your goal is just to demonstrate the concept, I'd probably simulate it instead..

• Use de-identified or synthetic patient data
• Show the provider/recipient/share flow conceptually
• Explain that in a full workspace this would normally be done through OpenSharing/Delta Sharing objects such as shares and recipients in Unity Catalog
