Hello @sarenity ,

Tool Calling is not enabled for this workspace" indicates the functionality you're trying to use is disabled. This is happening within a Databricks Generative AI context. Unfortunately, enabling "Tool Calling" likely isn't something users can directly control. While there isn't a direct mention of enabling "Tool Calling" in official documentation, searching the Databricks documentation for "Generative AI" and "Tool Calling" might reveal more information

Best Regards,

Hi @sarenityWelcome to the Databricks Community! We're glad to have you here.

It seems like you’re trying to use a feature in Databricks that has been disabled. To enable this feature, you need to have account admin privileges.

Here are the steps to enable it:

  1. As an account admin, log in to the account console.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Click on the Feature enablement tab.
  4. In the Partner-powered AI assistive features section, select Enabled and then click Save1.

Please note that these instructions are for enabling or disabling all workspaces in an account for D...1. If you’re trying to enable a specific feature within a workspace, the process might be different.

Hope this helps! 😊

Hi,

Just a passer-by comment. Not sure if the same question is asked here, linking the two for ease.

I could not get more information on the exact cause, but here are a few more pointers to check

Are you trying from an unsupported region for External models?
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/databricks/machine-learning/model-serving/model-serving-limi...

- Also, from the internal discussion as mentioned earlier it looks like there is some work going on on this.

I have requested more info, and as I have details I can post further.

Hi Everyone, Tools is in private preview right now, there would be an official documentation later regarding its support.

If you have an Account SA, kindly reach out to them and they can guide you.
