Unable to Locate the Scripts or Materials Used in the Demos of Databricks Platform Administrator

Hi Community,

I’m currently going through the Databricks Platform Administrator Accreditation course on Databricks Academy and facing some difficulty.

I’m unable to find the scripts, notebooks, or other materials used in the demo or hands-on lab sections of the course. I’ve explored the course content thoroughly but haven’t come across any downloadable resources or links that allow me to replicate the demos on my own workspace.

This is restricting me from completing the hands-on practice effectively and getting the most out of the learning experience.

Could someone please guide me on where I can find these materials, or let me know if there’s a separate location or step required to access them?

Databricks’ self-paced learning courses do not typically include hands-on labs. However, instructor-led training options do provide hands-on lab experiences. For those interested in accessing labs independently, Databricks offers a Databricks Academy Labs Subscription at a competitive price. You now have Free Edition, even then?

What's the purpose and utility of having the Free Edition?

They serve different purposes.  Free Edition is a small slice of Databricks for you to learn the platform on your own, or learn Spark, etc.    The Labs offering provides you with our full training content and we provide you with a fully enabled Databricks workspace which is where the training works.  Our training materials are not guarenteed to work in the Free Editon of Databricks.  Hope this helps, Lou.

You should check the lab/demo section for any attached workspace links or Resources tab, as the notebooks and scripts may be provided there rather than as separate downloads. If you still can’t find them, it’s worth contacting Databricks Academy Support since some hands-on materials may require specific course access.

So can you guide me here -

I am preparing for Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification using the contents & Materials at link - 'https://customer-academy.databricks.com/learn/learning-plans/10/data-engineer-learning-plan'. My ask are -

1) Is that the correct starting point and sufficient course material to prepare for the Certification or is there more to it? 

2) Please if you can clear this doubt and provide all relevant links (I am not in a condition to avail for any paid stuff involving a fortune without a guarantee of employment).

3) What is the difference between 'Databricks Free edition' and 'Databricks Academy Labs', which one is best suited to certification preparation.

3. Databricks Free Edition is for your personal use, to learn the platform, features and functionality.   Databricks Academy is a paid service that gets you access to all of our training materials and labs along with full access to the Databricks platform (all features supported).
