I recently wrote about a field sales platform built on Databricks using Lakeflow, Lakebase, Unity Catalog, Mosaic AI, and Databricks Apps.

The main idea is using Lakebase and Lakehouse Sync to support operational workflows and analytics in one Databricks based architecture.

Some areas covered:

  • Lakeflow DLT for SCD Type 2 history
  • Lakebase for app backend writes
  • Genie inside a Databricks App
  • Knowledge Assistant for RAG over field manuals
