What is your talk about, and who is it for?
My talk shows how Finance Departments can use Genie to speed up monthly close by automating invoice reconciliation, variance analysis, and reporting through AI-driven dashboards, natural language insights, and a unified environment.

What's changed in the last 6โ12 months that makes this topic urgent right now?
Over the last 12 months, Genie, Genie Space, AI/BI dashboards, and Databricks Apps have matured into production-ready tools. Genie Space now includes Genie Agent, enabling end users to perform deeper, more contextual analysis behind the numbers. Together in a unified Genie environment, these components form a cohesive solution to streamline and enhance the monthly close process.

Why are you the person giving this talk?
In my previous life, I was part of the team handling the monthly close, where the same challenges and questions surfaced monthly. This session revisits that reality, then fast-forwards to show how Genie can reduce manual effort, accelerate month-end closing, and relieve pressure on finance teams.

What will someone be able to do on Monday morning that they couldn't do before?
For their next monthly close, finance teams will learn how to use Genie Agent to identify discrepancies across systems and perform variance analysis, while Databricks Apps accelerate resolution end-to-end, from Excel file uploads and automated reconciliations via jobs to generating the final PDF report for C-level stakeholders.
